Painting Your Walls in your facility can be stressful and often put off until the last moment when there are cracks and wear and tear showing.
There are multiple factors that can contribute to either more and less frequent painting maintenance. This can be due to the certain weather elements it is subject to, or how it has been maintained.
Deciding when to repaint can sometimes be as obvious as noticing chips, marks or fading in the paint. Both interior and exterior paint differs in age due to being in different surroundings.
Interior Painting
Painting Your Walls is the most inexpensive solution to transform your space into something entirely different. Interiors don’t require regular painting like the exterior do, but they do need a good coat of paint occasionally to keep the paint looking fresh. With the quality of paint, it can definitely differ, but most good quality paints should last 5-10 years with kitchens and bathrooms usually showing more wear and tear due to them being the most used rooms in a facility. In bathrooms, the main culprit will most definitely be moisture and humidity, with good ventilation being key.
- Hallways every 2-3 years
- Smaller and larger rooms range from 3-7 years
- Kitchens and bathrooms every 3-4 years
Exterior Painting
The exterior of a facility or building is something entirely different, as it needs to protect from the elements as well as looking fresh and vibrant. Some factors that need to be taken into consideration are:
- The climate it is subject to
- The quality of paint used
Sometimes we forget about the exterior because we’re not constantly looking at it from a close distance. If you do notice any cracks, peeling or exposed wood this is a sign that it should be painted immediately, and leaving it any longer is not recommended.
Although it can be hard to give an exact number of years, a consultation by us can definitely tell you when you are next due for paint maintenance. In general terms:
- Painted timber can last up to 10 years
- Stained or clear finished timber every 2-5 years
- Painted weatherboards can last up to 15 years
